JBS TILE FIX

Product Description

JBS TILEFIX is a high-performance, cementitious tile adhesive requiring only water to produce a thixotropic, versatile adhesive. It is suitable for both thin and thick bed applications for fixing ceramic and mosaic wall and floor tiles, offering excellent waterproofing properties. Once cured, it exhibits a durable grey finish.

Uses

• Bonding ceramic and mosaic tiles in interior and exterior applications, including:
  • Bathrooms, toilets, shower recesses, laundries, and swimming pools.
  • Rendered brickwork, brick masonry, and concrete surfaces.
  • Asbestos cement sheets, plywood, plasterboard, hardboard, old tiles, and painted surfaces (provided the paint is not loose or flaking).

Application Method

Surface Preparation

• Ensure the surface is sufficiently flat for a smooth tile finish.
• Clean the surface with a dry brush to remove efflorescence, laitance, and dirt.

Mixing

• Mix 20 kg of JBS TILEFIX with 5–5.5 litres of water to create a slump-free mortar ready for direct use.

Application

1. Use a suitable trowel to apply the adhesive.
2. Press the tiles firmly with a slight twisting motion, ensuring good contact with the tile back.
3. Avoid leaving voids on the solid bed.
4. Remove excess adhesive from the tile face and joints before it hardens.

Dosage

• 3.5–4 kg/m² at 3 mm thickness using a thin-bed trowel.

Shelf Life

• 12 months in unopened conditions when stored in a cool, dry place.
