Application

  1. Add 70-80% of the water required (based on the mix design) by weight.
  2. Measure the correct dosage of JBS HYPERPLAST-G using a recommended dispenser.
  3. Add the admixture with the remaining mixing water to the concrete.
  4. Mix thoroughly for a minimum of 60 seconds in forced-action mixers.

Note: Do not add JBS HYPERPLAST-G directly to dry mixes or cement.

Dosage

  • Recommended range: 0.5–2.0 kg per 100 kg of cement.
  • Optimum dosage should be determined through trial mixes.
  • Consult JBS Carbon And Chemicals LLP Technical Staff for specific recommendations.
  • Superior Workability

Enhances concrete flow and placement, even in congested reinforcement areas.

  • Strength Enhancement

Boosts both early and ultimate strengths, including flexural strength and E-modulus.

Mechanism of Action

Conventional superplasticisers, such as those based on Sulphonated Naphthalene or Melamine Formaldehyde Condensates, function by interacting with cement particles at the very early stages of the hydration process.

  1. Absorption:
Upon mixing, these superplasticisers are absorbed onto the surface of cement particles.
  2. Electrostatic Repulsion:
    • The sulphonic groups present in the polymer chains enhance the negative charges on the cement particle surfaces.
    • This increase in negative charge leads to electrostatic repulsion between cement particles.
  3. Dispersion:
The repulsion prevents agglomeration of cement particles, ensuring better dispersion throughout the mix. This improves the flowability and workability of the concrete, even at lower water-cement ratios.
